Who We Are
On Behalf of the People of Epworth United Methodist Church, Welcome!
Our desire is to Know God, to Grow deep in faith, and to Go serve as Christ’s hands and feet in the world. In this way, we are making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Disciples of Jesus Christ are saved by God’s grace through faith. God’s grace is like the air we breathe. It is ever present. God woos us into Knowing God through grace, even as we are unaware. We come to know and embrace God’s love in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins.
God’s grace transforms our way of living. We Grow deep in faith, following the risen Christ. We grasp eternal life in the here and now. We are being made whole and renewed through the work of the Holy Spirit. Our task is our commitment to live into the means of God’s grace. We hold scripture as primary, illuminated by our experience, our reason, and the tradition of church. We commit to worship regularly praising God and looking to God’s will, to actively participate in a small groups for nurturing our spiritual growth, and to intentionally extend our lives in outreach sharing the love of Christ.
We are transformed that we might be used to transform others, and by such, transform the world. Our hearts are compelled to love completely in response to God’s love for us. The Spirit shows us ways to respond, Going and serving throughout the church and the world we live in.
